Stawy Milickie

Big fish ponds located in Dolina Baryczy. There is more than 258 ponds. Their surface is 77km² and the maximum depth is 2,5m. In the area Dolina Baryczy there is one of the biggest in Europe fish ponds complex which contains 300 ponds on the district of Milicz and Żmigród. Stawy Milickie are one of the biggest in Europe carp breeding centers and the biggest in Poland natural reserve.

Stawy Milickie are part of a big reserve called Dolina Baryczy. This Landscape Park is located in Lower Silesia. This great park gives tourist many different opportunities. You can observe here many different species, animals, birds, fish and beautiful nature. This is a perfect place for photographing landscape and nature. Because of numbers of endangered species in this reserve tourists should behave properly and they should be eco-friendly. In this place ecotourism is very important. In 1963, ornithological reserve was created here. In this reserve there is more than 270 birds species including white-tailed eagle, black stork and many species of ducks and gooses. There is also a very endangered species of rare dunbird.
